Boston Dynamics shows new quadruped robots, including one with a head

IDK, it kinda resembles a certain Boing Boing Denizen…

That bit where the head remains completely still while its body moves? Possibly around you: peering, planning… yeah. Nope. Nope. Nope.

You can’t kick those buggers over either -

I had the exact same thought… especially how it uses its “head” as a hand and its body has the brains.

Holy shit they taught robots to perform physical comedy. It won’t be long now.

I love the silent “Yayyyy!” it gives after putting the glass in the dishwasher. That’s a robot that’s happy in it’s work.

I think the reptilian/dinosaur head was sufficiently creepy.

Personally I’m still waiting for them to develop a commute-worthy Diamond Age chevaline. Then I’ll be impressed.

The head makes the robot even more eerily realistic. I kept waiting for it to go to the couch, and raise its back leg.

Now that’s scary.

I really wanted to see it go full “goat simulator” in that environment.

They’ve come so far since the first Big Dog prototype!

They spent even more to get to the moon. AND I CAN SEE IT RIGHT OVER MY BACKYARD.
