This dumb fuck is going home to tell his wife he lost his job over him being a white supremacist and a…hamburger. How do you decide paying your bills is worth being a fucktard AND an in-the-wrong fucktard at that?
Whoever wrote that piece need’s to go back to grade school. Or at the very least use spell check.
And as far as the story goes, Why does the service member need a lawyer?
To sue for a free meal?
Stopped at Texas Roadhouse on veterans day and no one asked for veteran ID. I actually wish they would have considering the number of posers out there.
I remember being asked a " trick" question about my service in Vietnam when I visited a military air museum in Rhode Island some years ago. Some guy who worked there asked me where I served and when I said Chu Lai with the Marines he said yeah that’s were the 101st was too right. Not right that’s were the American decision was.
No respect when we came home and now we have to put up with questioning each other because of posers. Really grinds my gears.
It wasn’t free. That’s why it’s called serving your country.
Also, it’s a good idea to know the laws relevant to where you work. Not only may Chili’s be in legal trouble, but this shit-for-brains twerp might be taken to court as well. You risk more than your job when you’re ignorant of the law.
They’re not really in the casual dining category. They’re considered a steakhouse.
The moment I read ‘He was wearing a Trump shirt’, I knew where the guy stood with regards to blacks.
To be fair, I know many veterans who bring in their cards for this very reason on Veteran’s days offers. Old white guy in front of me at the grocery store had his discharge certificate the other day. That is fairly standard practice among vets.
Did see a WWII Vet at my Veterans Day meal at Black Angus.
Correct on the age, min would be right around 88-89.
My Uncle (WWII , Italy, Belgium) dropped a couple years back at 95, was living and doing things on his own up until the
last 6 months or so.
They are getting rare, you are right.
I doubt I will know what is going on after 75 !!
Chili’s: “Can you prove you’re a veteran?”
Black vet: Yes, here’s my DD214 and military ID."
Chili’s: “Nope, not good enough. Hand over that hamburger.”
White guy: “Can I have his hamburger?”
Chili’s: “Are you a veteran?”
White guy: “Not the US military, but I’ve been a card-carrying member of the KISS Army since 1978.”
Chili’s: “Thank you for your service. Enjoy your free meal.”
Hell, yes. I keep a copy of my DD-214 in my car for the explicit purpose of documenting my service for those rare salespeople that ask for it. But usually the facial scars are enough. I’m no idiot, I’ll take every discount and freebie I can get.
So what? For every thing good, there will always be some who try to game the system and take unfair advantage. I don’t think punishing those who really need whatever the good thing is because of a few sly boots who think they are oh-so-clever is worth it, do you? I’d rather err on the side of good. FWIW.
My son-in-law is wrapping up his 20 years in the Air Force, and they were told to keep a copy of their DD-214 in their wallets. He’s going to laminate it.
I will continue my ongoing boycott of Chili’s, I just now have more of a reason than “food, visual and general offense.”
What?
(!!!)
No relative of mine (and there are quite a few) in Texas has ever worn his hat indoors, carrying or not. And they are usually carrying because TEXAS. There’s a song lyric which partly goes “Where you tip your hat to ladies and the Rose of San Antone,”* and it’s just about the honest truth. No rightly-raised Texan wears his hat indoors. Of course, there are probably a lot of not-so-well-brought-up there now. It’s been a few years since we visited Pecos.
*I think that’s from “Bob Wills is Still the King,” but that isn’t important right now.
I am sorry that people believe you when you say you are a veteran.
What did you serve your country for, if not for the right to show your papers upon demand?
The vet didn’t say he was in WW2. The old man said it.
Did you read the article? I don’t see where you are going with your post - you seem to have the facts pretty much backwards and inside-out.
Sorry. My bad.
