Clerk jailed for refusing same-sex marriage licenses writes of "furious, fist-pounding homosexual men"

At no point is she transformed into a dinosaur or an airplane with ripped abs.

Yeah, and I’m pretty sure that if she were opposed to heterosexual marriage she’d have furious fist-pounding heterosexual people. It has nothing to do with their sexual orientation, and everything to do with the fact that she was denying them their rights.

At the end of the day, she didn’t get in trouble because she is a virulent homophobe. That might be the motivation for what she did to get in trouble, but when you get down to the brass tacks she got in trouble for unilaterally deciding that she gets to choose what rights people do or do not have. That is, at least as far as the people who founded the US were concerned, tyranny.

Her impact may have been relatively small, but her behavior was exactly of that of a tyrant and when framed accurately it becomes almost impossible to feel any sympathy for her. She, or somebody helping her, knows that, and knows that in order to make her narrative sell, they’re going to have to bolster the notion that she is a victim. Given the target demographic, I’m willing to bet “brave, devout, Christian who stands up against depravity in a sick world” sells a lot more books than “Petty, hateful, tyrant who is willing to face charges of contempt to deprive innocent people of rights.”

Just imagine how different the conversation would be if everything were the same right down to the bigotry, but she was denying people handgun permits based on a deep religious belief in non-violence.

I can easily see the latter, with compensation being the extension of her 15 minutes of fame. Some people become degenerate addicts with just a taste.

One of our species’ oldest and worst traits, sadly. (Doing virtually anything for fame, notoriety, or power, that is)

Let’s just say, it exists.

Or someone’s fetish.

They can be the nemeses of the Furious, Fist-Pounding Homosexual Men, the Avengers-like supergroup formed when the Ambiguously Gay Duo gather their allies from the corners of the globe. This is quickly evolving from a throw-away joke into a comic book series I’d really lie to see in print. Every time they punch (fist?) a member of the Liberty Council, the sound effect can be FFPMH!

I don’t think it could not exist. Even if you completely ignore the love affair the porn industry has with making parodies of popular mainstream films, you’d still be left with the fact that if there’s anything the porn industry loves more than sex, it’s a good pun.

“If” ? I wholly expect many of those “people in the public communicating to her” quickly resorted to rather graphic language to express their displeasure.

I’m not UTTERLY without sympathy. She had a job, and then the Supreme court changed her job in a way that she believed was incompatible with her bigotty beliefs. But my understanding is that it was an elected post, not a career job, so those are always at least theoretically tenuous. But instead of gracefully resigning or stepping aside, she used this as an opportunity to trumpet her bigotry and rally all the homophobes around her.

I googled it for verification. An addendum: It’s no Harry Pecker and the Prisoner of Ass Cabin.

I looked up Chuck Tingle and the first book listed on Wikipedia by him is My Billionaire Triceratops Craves Gay Ass. Quick! To my nearest bookseller!

Of course you’d expect that, because we’re used to hearing about people being bullied by the alt-right, who think death and rape threats are part of acceptable public communication. Death threats are not normal.

What exactly is “normal” these days? I cannot believe that an inability to reasonably articulate one’s viewpoint is exclusively correlated with “the alt-right”.
