CNN catches Texas' Ted Cruz sleeping during Presidential address

Apply some of that hostile architecture that goes into park bench or downtown building ledge design.

But I thought they were hard at work filibustering all progressive actions.

Pelosi should have chucked a shoe at him.

Little guy looks like he’s having that nightmare where he’s far past any political relevancy, again.

That’s why y’all have benches instead of chairs.

Senator Ted Cruz (Q-Cancun) is most productive when he is asleep.

He wasn’t sleeping though, just looked (probably intentionally) bored. You can see in the video he closes his eyes for a second, that’s not sleeping.

With that being said, I’d probably be snoozing my self. The presidential address is political theater.

It’s mind blowing how insane that guy is :joy:

how many children’s melatonin gummies did he take to pull off this stupid stunt?

Sleepy Ted Cruz is normally like that. His low IQ prevents him from understanding very much so he drifts off to a world in his imagination where he travels the world in Bermuda shorts and a dog whistle blowing Hawaiian shirt. He is best left asleep though as he has the same personality defects as Joe the Bum who lived under a pepper tree by Jack Webb’s movie horse stables where he shoveled out stalls back in the 1960’s. One minute Joe was nearly blacked out and the next he was ranting about delusions that upset him.

Nah, he’s definitely dozing. I wouldn’t say he was in full REM sleep or anything, but he is definitely got that droopy eyed dozing going on.

Performative napping?

He won’t, because no one really likes him.

I mean - to be fair, those things are usually boring as shit. I’ll catch the synopsis at a later point rather than sit through them. But if you have to be there - do pretend to pay attention.

Easy fix for this one:

So explain to me how this isn’t evidence of total approval (and comfort with) the speech?

Since 1970 they only have to threaten to pretend to filibuster.

That’s possible, he being an evil loon. But even if he hadn’t faked it, he’d say he did. “Didn’t sleep. Triggered libs. Double win.”

Well of course - they don’t want anyone else to do anything either. (And they’re not just obstructing progressive actions - Republicans recently pulled some procedural shenanigans to extend out the voting for something they were for, such that it took 10 times longer than it should have.)
