Based on what Comey said the only logical conclusions are either
- Comey just perjured himself, or
- Trump is guilty of attempted obstruction of justice.
Even most Republican Senators aren’t claiming option #1.

As far as I can tell, if the only people in a position to know are Trump and Comey, and they both stick to their current stories, both cases are going exactly nowhere.
Now if an identified third party surfaces, one who has evidence beyond a reasonable doubt, that’s a different story.*
*The same thing applies to the “Trump colluded with the Russians” story line.

Not terribly relevant either way. Impeachment isn’t a judicial process, it’s a political one.
Recordings would only affect the outcome if they convinced Trump’s base to abandon him in sufficient numbers for the Pence faction to launch their coup.

Exactly. It seems that the anti-Trump left is hoping that a sufficiently prolonged tsunami of accusations will eventually make Trump too much of a liability for the GOP to bear.
Trump’s story doesn’t even contradict the crux of Comey’s story. The clown went on national television and said he fired Comey over the Russia investigation.
