I did not say she was succeeding, but (fair context - she only cares about GOP support) she absolutely has been trying:

In her debating two months ago she attempted to recast herself as a “victim of the January 6th riots.” Granted, she’s flipped again.

I’m curious why you’re believing what she says rather than looking at what she’d doing. Her SAYING that they’re looking at “evidence” is not the same thing as there being any evidence to look at. Anyone who lives in reality can see that there is no case against Biden in the same way that there was with Trump. None.
So, no… she’s not trying, she’s playing people to seem more reasonable, but she is still one of the most radical members of Congress who is very much working to tear down democracy.

none of these are new or profound thoughts. and since she and the republicans are the ones creating all the drama, it’d be very easy for them to come out as rational actors: they could stop pushing divisive ideas

I am not defending this insane hate-monger. I’m saying she went through a phase of trying to look less batshit crazy. I’m not even saying she saw the need to do that of her own free will. This happened during the election cycle. She absolutely played down the person she’s been. She obviously knows the jewish space laser thing was not a wise path or she would have doubled down on it just now. She’s angling to get onto the Oversight Committee to start “investigating Biden” and she can’t do that if she’s still ranting about the dreidel in the sky. Same thing with transforming herself into a victim who was hiding from the mob on January 6th… but again, like Trump, her unfiltered MTG took over and she said if she’d led it she would have succeeded because guns. She has image helpers who helped her get re-elected. They’re probably still trying to help her and she probably isn’t listening to them as much.
I was not implying she has had a change of heart, is less dangerous, or is changing as a human being.

Did I say you were? My point is that she’s not changed one bit. She’s always tried to thread that needle… You said this:

And I disagreed. 
I don’t think this is about image shifting, as she’s always tried to present herself as somewhat sane. Not long after she got elected, she tried to partially disavow her more batshit stuff… but she also kept pushing it, too. But she forgets that there are cameras everywhere, watching her more extreme comments, because she says them outloud in front of cameras. Given that, I don’t think that’s evidence of her shifting her image, as she’s always tried to play this came of being both the extremist and “normal”, but the extremist is real.
