In this case, it looks more like their system is jammed/overloaded. I expect that it will suddenly go from no time slots released to fully booked, again. (And the damned reCAPTCHA each time I test doesn’t help.)
Yup. Coming back in from the main page, they’ve changed their message back to fully booked. (And inside still says that no slots have been released.)
COVID-19 Vaccinations Appointments Fully Booked
At this time, all appointments for the COVID-19 Vaccination Clinics in York Region are fully booked. We apologize for any inconvenience. Additional appointments slots will be released as more vaccines become available. Announcements will be made on various communication channels as new appointment slots are added. Check back often.
Exactly. At the beginning of all this, we moved to providing a bunch of online training so we could keep people nationwide on the payroll while we figured out how to safely get back out into houses to do work. One survey in NH revealed that over 80% of the contractors - these are people with full-time jobs at above the so-called living wage - did all of their home-computing on a smart phone. Not even a tablet. A phone.
Imagine dealing with these ridiculous websites and questionnaires on a phone.
And those are the people lucky enough to have a smart phone and connectivity.
Maybe they’ll still change their minds? Maine went that route last week, but the teachers’ union raised a much-deserved fuss, and the governor announced a change of approach yesterday. I was heartened to see a timely and appropriate response.
So he’s getting rid of summer break?!? (Just kidding. I know he doesn’t really care about closing the achievement gap.)
If everyone is doing remote learning, where’s the gap? What he actually wants is to reinstate the achievement gap when wealthy kids return to schools where distancing, ventilation, etc. are possible, and poor kids go back to schools where it isn’t.
Is anyone else having this weird and totally frivolous experience of seeing really cute face masks and wanting them, but then not wanting to buy them because (fingers crossed) this will all be over before I need more cloth face masks?
It’s so unimportant, yet such a specific experience due to this time we’re living through.
It makes me wonder about the weird yet mundane things brought up for people in previous pandemics.
