I pay attention to what any insurance company with “Re” in the name is doing. The re-insurance guys insure the insurance companies and take on mind-bending risks. When I deal with people from these companies I know I’m dealing with very smart people.

Regular insurance companies… it’s hit and miss…

These results support larger cross sectional findings indicating that mild Wildtype SARS-CoV-2 infection can be followed by small changes in cognition and memory that persist for at least a year.

The takeaway from the paper itself is perhaps a bit less alarming. The study victims were unvaccinated as well.

The mechanistic basis and clinical implications of these small changes remain unclear.

The mechanistic basis is unclear to whom, precisely? I’d say blood clots in the brain would be a fairly safe thing to say at this point, especially given recent research linking fibrin and the COVID spike protein.

Just for folks who don’t click through, it’s not catching covid that risks myopia. It’s that the pandemic increased indoor time, screen time, and decreased outdoor time. The teeny little muscles that flex the lens to focus out to infinity atrophy with lack of use, and cease to function properly. So, doc’s advice? Take your kids outside.
