Edit: @RickMycroft is right, on second reading, this lacks substance… got my hopes up, I guess…

Some scientist are afraid this hypothesis could be true and that the Coronavirus could infect the brain too, causing Alzheimer and other forms of dementia.

During the current pandemic, some scientists have started to worry that the coronavirus could increase the risk of dementia. As scientists from Mount Sinai School of Medicine, New York warned in the Journal of Alzheimer’s Disease last year: “It is possible that there may be an existing population who have become unknowingly predisposed to neurodegeneration through silent viral entry into the brain.”

What a garbage article!

James Culic is Niagara This Week’s columnist and he would vote for Doug Ford again just to be contrarian.

That says it all, really.

It’s only 12:30pm, but Osaka Prefecture is already predicting around 6,000 new cases today. This is a huge increase over the previous record number of cases (around 3,700) from last Sunday. Japan is extremely crowded and needs lockdowns now to stem this spread, but the government is considering only watered-down “蔓延防止” (spread prevention) measures, which only have the effect of reducing business hours and placing limits on the serving of alcohol…

ETA: The total in Osaka is looking more like 5,400, but 16 prefectures are posting record numbers and the country has surpassed 30,000 new cases in a single day for the first time ever. The government is now planning to implement the so-called “spread prevention” measures in 13 more prefectures in addition to the three where such measures are already in place. They are saying that around 90% of the cases are asymptomatic or light symptoms and ICU usage rates remain relatively low compared to the last wave (late last August), but the sheer number and rapid spread of cases suggest worse things ahead.

Additionally, the Max Planck Society has a video showing how to use the metal strip in the mask to make a better fit. Basically, bend it like a rounded W.

And that’s the results, visualised.

If you need outdoorsy stuff, look to Carhartt first. You know far righters might be skipping over and throwing a fit about this brand because of this so a bit of cash towards Carhartt’s way might be useful for them.

Carhartt makes great outdoors stuff, but for those where it’s a thing, they are my favorite brand for medical scrubs. Not the cheapest, but durable, well made and most important, like infinite pockets.

Why do you need pockets in medical scrubs? You aren’t taking organs home are you? :stuck_out_tongue:
