COUP: Under cover of #muslimban, Bannon throws top general and spy off the National Security Council and installs himself in their stead

How do you figure we can know that, though? They acted on them, wrote on them, existed within these structures and made them a reality? All we can go by is the documents they left behind and the actions they took. Who was it, Maya Angelou, who said believe people when they tell you who they are the first time?

I think, if Christopher Browning is to be believed, anyhow, the foot soldiers believing the propaganda was a mixed bag (as is always the case, of course). There were certainly true believers, but also those who went along out of fear, for forms sake, or because they didn’t care, either way.

I think we can all agree.

Hitler obligingly had his conferences recorded by stenographers, and the British made recordings of captured German generals. It’s not much fun reading those transcripts (until you come to a decent guy like Von Thoma and find yourself cheering him on as he tells his fellow captive generals how it is) but the dissonance between public and private statements is there.

Pardon me, but would your avatar be a dead giveaway, or would I be guilty of profiling? If you believe so, please contact Trump and company for some fine-tuning of that word.

Oh good. Let’s start here:

OHHHH DEEERRRRRRPPPP! I forgot you don’t read news that doesn’t fit your predefined narrative. Here’s another source that probably doesn’t make your baby fuhrer cry:

So. You were saying?

Trump’s “helmet” is much smaller.

Whee! Here’s another one you might enjoy, it’s a copy of the most recent draft memo where the non-principals of the State Department can come together to voice “dissent”, which is a word that frightens trump to his core:

“Full Text of Draft Dissent Channel Memo on Trump Refugee and Visa Order”:

Of course, that’s not RT or <a href=https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dQw4w9WgXcQ>Breitbart ‘News’, but hey, give reality a chance. It might grow on you.

So tell me where The Truth can be had, then. Warning: If you tell me stuff like Jerry Fallwell’s “Stu-Pinion” page, or GIFs* of Sarah Palin with a Remington Model 700 (chambered in .270, natch), then don’t bother.

Nixon had a plan too

He did like his plans:

Among other things the [Huston] plan called for domestic burglary, illegal electronic surveillance and opening the mail of domestic “radicals”. At one time it also called for the creation of camps in Western states where anti-war protesters would be detained.

Wouldn’t be surprised if Bannon is dusting this one off as we write.

The Russian military tried that with Yeltsin. It failed to remove him. Instead he allowed the economy to be looted by his mates for years and the RF ended up with Putin.
I don’t know what the answer is*, but tanks on the lawn have a poor track record.

I didn’t say it was desirable, i just suggested it as a possibility.

They are still core members - mandatory attendance at all NSC meetings. Bannon is not a core member - he is an invitee, and may or may not attend regular NSC meetings.

and you’re ok with this even if it is true? What are Bannon’s national security credentials again?

34 years ago? What was his rank?

You know, his rank wasn’t listed on his wikipedia page, but he was only in for like 6 years (76-83), so I’d guess a LT, at most.

Lighten up, Francis.

By the way, this isn’t a “list.” You know you’re in a web browser reading a forum, right?
