… there was blood coming from his wherever
A competent doctor should be able to fix that.
You think it’s a secret?
Maybe it’s not exaggerated enough. We should stop describing it as an assassination attempt when clearly it was an assassination. Or do people believe the actor the Deep State has playing Trump now is really the hero that was going to make America great again? And now they’re going to vote for this impostor puppet of the global elite? WAKE UP SHEEPLE
I honestly don’t understand that position at all. Acknowledging the reality that someone tried to shoot the guy doesn’t give him “credit” for anything. It’s not like only good people get shot or shot at in the U.S. or that being a target of an attempt somehow reflects well upon his character. One audience member died and two others received life-altering injuries, so it was obviously a very serious, tragic incident, and I don’t see how calling it an “assassination attempt” greatly exaggerates anything as long as you’re not calling his response to it brave, heroic, etc.
That’s the part I’m questioning – that Crooks was trying to shoot Trump specifically, as opposed to just whatever targets presented themselves. I’m not questioning that Trump was in the firing line, just I don’t believe he was “the” target. From what I’m seeing, there’s still no clear motive and the investigations are still ongoing, but I find it hard to consider that as an assassination attempt. I don’t think Crooks was trying to be an assassin, but I do think he might have been trying to be an acceleration – trying to throw fuel on the “coming storm” bs narrative.
Oh, no, of course not! I do think Trump tried to milk the incident for status with his supporters, though. (And seeing the fools wearing bandages on their own ears after he appeared in public with one, I think it worked at least to some degree.)
And unfortunately I’ve seen exactly that in more than a few places, including idiots with pictures of Trump idiotically standing with his hands raised like he won a prize fight afterwards. I really hate to nitpick over specific wording like that, but it looks like calling it an assassination attempt leaves too much “street cred” for him.
Hey JD, what is the sound of one hand clapping? Let us know!
It’s not rare. They did the same with the Obama’s home in Chicago, but in that case, the neighbors seem to have welcomed the increased security.
Vance and Trump sow resentment wherever they go, I guess.
That’s literally the point of captioning-- to convey in words the information that would be lost if it someone cannot hear.
A coherent motive or political ideology is not a prerequisite for being an assassin or attempted assassin. John Hinckley Jr. attempted to assassinate Reagan for completely irrational reasons, and subsequent investigation showed he’d previously stalked Jimmy Carter with similar intent. Like this shooter, he wasn’t motivated by partisan ideology but he wasn’t just looking to kill some random person either.
Alexandria was part of DC.
you can see a tiny bit of alexandria’s street grid at the southernmost point of the diamond.
i think that’s somewhat of an open question. it sounded as if he wanted a large crowd in order to harm a large number of people – not ■■■■■ in particular. ( he was also searching for biden events apparently )
But he wasn’t just searching for big events with lots of people, or shooting randomly into a crowd of people. His research apparently focused on things like the Kennedy assassination, not the mass shooter who murdered all those concertgoers in Vegas.
All evidence released so far suggests he wanted to kill one of the two major party candidates and didn’t particularly care which one. This is consistent with a 1997 Secret Service study which found that most assassins and would-be assassins of public figures rarely have political motives.
If we narrow the definition of “assassin” to someone who is a rational person with a clearly articulated political ideology then most people who have shot American Presidents probably wouldn’t be classified as such.
Single person slow clapping would have been the chef’s kiss.
As I recall, that’s what Pence’s house in Chevy Chase was like.
In fairness, that will be true wherever he settles. So, yeah, nothing special.
I live up the river in Montgomery County, Maryland. It’s a really nice place to live, but we have high property taxes and high income taxes, and are run by Democrats. According to conservative doctrine, people should be fleeing. Instead, people are flocking to it. It’s both one of the best-educated and most diverse places to live in all of the US-- with wide diversity in race, religion, country of origin, and income. My son says the variety of choices for international food are far wider here than in Boston. It’s far from perfect, but I feel blessed to be able to live here. Conservative doctrine looks at everything from the wrong end of the telescope.
