“Homes” = short for “homie” = short for “home boy,” invoked in this context as an ironic term of endearment (a-la “look, buddy…”) as opposed to the fictional detective.

Incidentally my wife’s nickname for her brother WAS “Holmes,” but that was a sort of a private family joke.

I would be worried about whether glory was flammable; but since absolutely nobody in this video ended up covered in it I suppose it’s not an issue.

Uh, Ya I know this is a bad time but, I’d really appreciate a refund for something I was immensely dissatisfied with.

In fairness, I’ve always heard it with an L, and assumed that while it was short for homegirl/boy, it was supposed to a be sarcastic rendition…
