Depends what you mean by “legal.”
Decriminalized in most places, so essentially confessing to it is a survey is like confessing to speeding in a survey. Legal for medicinal uses in most states as well. Legal recreationally in eight states, including California, where about 1 in 10 Americans lives.
Still, we’re way more relaxed about pot now than we were when I was growing up (Reagan administration). The way the kids reacted at the beginning of the first episode of Freaks And Geeks was not exaggerated at all, and actually pat for the course. Now, nobody cares who smokes pot.
There are an awful lot of countries with No Data (white,) which is almost indistinguishable from the lightest green shade indicating Least Usage. Terrible design.
