(But we’re lost without it.)
We as a nation need to remember to hold these so-called representatives to account for their unkept promises. They’re supposed to be representing us, the citizens, not them, the corporations & PACs.

I prefer to think that we’re sliding down the cliff face, being temporarily rescued by crashing into trees growing out of the side. Sometimes they hold, and we can start climbing back up. Sometimes the roots are too shallow to hold. It’s either an action-adventure movie or a cartoon.
Can’t help but think of this:
