As someone who lives in New Jersey, this does not surprise me at all. Deer are abundant here, and it’s a densely populated state. The deer and humans can’t really avoid each other.

It also cleared the minivan/crossover before the truck.
Deer can make astounding leaps, eat all your roses and, in return, leave gifts in your lawn that look like giraffe scat.
Amazing creatures.

Looks like a panic run, possibly spooked by something off-screen.
And landing on the edge of the truck like that - I suspect it sustained some injury, too.
