I imagine there’s a dozen people in TFG’s orbit, including one or two of his kids, who are absolutely convinced they’re his pick for VP. He’s very good at earnestly lying and then shafting people, it’s possibly his greatest skill. Revealing that you think that you might be his VP pick is going to piss him off, as it makes it harder to lie to other people that they’re his real choice.
I could always tell. But then again, I’m not an amoral opportunistic grifter, either.

It seems weird to me too that people believe him, but he does not lack for goons and flunkies, and people still are willing to work for him. Perhaps bribing and then defaulting on payment is a better description than earnestly lying. The loyalty he inspires is deeply whackadoodle.

This is obviously a cunning plan! Traditionally, the VP takes care of US space policy. As the National Space Council’s chair she can get NASA to de-orbit those space lasers. Boom, mo more wildfires. Checkmate, gin, and Yahtzee!

Greene will never be picked by Trump for VP, or any other important cabinet position. He’s got a very specific list of qualifiers, and any candidate must fulfil all of them - she’s missing the two most important.
I mean yes, she’s a nutjob with zero mental connections to reality and willing to say absolutely any crazy thing as though she believes it to be the ultimate truth, but:
- She’s incapable of shutting the hell up if he tells her to, a trait only he is supposed to have
- She does things without him ordering her to. Initiative is bad, and initiative from an immediate flunky is worse.
Based on those two things, Trump’s VP pick is probably going to be McCarthy, Ole’ Kevin’s got no initiative, and will do whatever he’s told to do.
