No, I am defending against what are half-truths at the best.
Yes, I would like to see the artifacts put in a more secure, stable environment as well.
Hey, I do get to bring up again that a friend while looking for Dinosaur bones in remote federal land found a Duck Pot just sitting on the ground. He called people and gave the GPS to get archaeologist out to salvage it.
Sometimes leaving delicate artifacts where they are IS the best way of preserving them. If a pot has managed to remain undisturbed for centuries then it may well last centuries more if nobody messes with it.
Of course that assumes that you donât open up the area to a bunch of idiots driving ATVs or putting new roads in a protected refuge.
I will stick with the Indian Country Media Network Today folks as a source of news and information about how the local tribes feel on these issues, rather than videos by the insurgency. I understand the Dildo throwing freedom fighters feel they are honoring the native people, but it seems the native people arenât warmly receiving it.
Oh I agree that that is a good source on how they feel about the issue. I think it is affecting their journalistic integrity.
I am also 100% in agreement that the Paiute neither want or need their help nor want anything to do with them, really.
But 1) they did take the quote out of context and 2) they use the word âhostageâ which doesnât accurately describe what is going on. Unlawful possession, even seizure, etc would be a more accurate description. I havenât heard or seen any report of them refusing to turn them over or saying they would do so only under certain conditions (that may indeed change). THAT is holding something hostage.
They have the two biggies of 1) occupying a government building and 2) damaging some of the surrounding terrain. That is plenty of reason to send them dick shaped candies with out false emotionally driven headlines.
When did a little hyperbole become so severe as a loss of âintegrityâ? Maybe theyâre biased, but you donât sound unbiased is all. You do sound well informed though!
Iâll get upset only if something gets actually damaged. Until then itâs getting upset for the feeling of righteous anger, which is apparently a reward on its own, otherwise it wouldnât be so common.
Itâs the results that ultimately count. The intangible crap is a means to them, not an end on its own.
