Donald Trump pushes for U.S. dictatorship: "We have to go beyond the governor" (video)

Yes, much too incrementally, but with every spitting mad dog rally, with every loony tweet, Trump’s electability dwindles.

Even when the Trump Christofacsist empire happens and it negatively affects the MAGA minions they won’t care as long as it owns the libs. They could be starving in the street but if Hillary is locked up it’s all worth it. And when things do get shitty Trump will say it’s antifa’s (aka anyone who isn’t a MAGA) fault and he’ll tell Bikers for Trump to hunt them down.

Many of those smarter monsters are his most ardent backers. he is very old, and I assume they are just hoping to install him as President for Life so he can take the flak for a few years while they maneuver amongst themselves for positions to assume leadership once he is dead or no longer useful.

Republicans: States rights! No big government!

Trump: And we should be able to override the elected governors and send in the National Guard whenever we want!

Republicans: (wild applause)

Chicago might not be majority Black, but the name is synonymous with Blackness to a lot of people, especially around here in the upper midwest. I imagine its the same in the Ohio Valley region. Here in Minneapolis I often hear folks talk about “Chicago people” as racists shorthand for Black people, who are assumed to be from Chicago if they are being scapegoated. I suspect this metonymy is wide-spread among his crowd.

That has already happened. The moderate wing of the GOP is now Liz fucking Cheney. It’s Trump’s world now, and conservatives are all just living in it. DeSantis or whoever else takes the reins will be as bad as Trump but more competent. That’s what is scary. There’s no mainstream GOP left in control of anything. The Overton window lurched so far right that it smashed into a million pieces.

Seriously, that’s an added incentive for them. They cheered that Wisconsin kid who shot three BLM protestors. Hunting liberals for sport is their wet dream.

And it didn’t go badly after Kent State for National Guard or the troops either.

It has been 44 years, and the U.S. government still refuses to admit that it participated in the killing of four young students at Kent State. There has not been a credible, independent, impartial investigation into Kent State. No group or individual has been held accountable.

There was a civil suit. ~$680k was awarded in a class action suite. No word on how much actually reached family members and students, that I can find.

Came to mention the Leopards, thank you.

He wants to be a dictator? He does know how well that went for Mussolini, Saddam and Gaddafi, right?

Well, they’ve been (sorry, but) groomed, for years, to accept the concept of full authoritarian rule as a good thing.

Authoritarians are good and we’ve always been at war with Eurasia.

So, those countries that don’t have a ‘drug problem’ no longer need to execute drug dealers, then?
Hmmmm?
I got news for ya, Sparky:
States that have the death penalty for murder still have murders…

Hell-bent on using the Insurrection Act, are ya?
Betcha won’t stop at merely ‘restoring order’ either…

The next step would be deposing said disobedient governor.

He’s already given notice of his intent to clog what bureauracracy remains after the Purge with his devoted minions.

Hmmm, that got me thinking - maybe Trump’s 2024 campaign slogan is going to be something like… “Freedom’s just another word for nothing left to choose. Vote Trump, or else.”

On the pro-side, it’s only slightly less honest than “Trump 2024: C’mon guys, I need this. I don’t want to go to jail.”

“What do you have to lose?” was Trump’s amazing pitch to black voters, but it turns out most weren’t that keen on finding out.

Yep, black voters aren’t dumb. Very few of them are ever going to buy what the Republicans are selling - especially when they’re barely even bothering to try and hide the white hoods these days.
Hence the “nothing left to choose” - can’t reject the wannabe-dictator in the polling booth if you can’t even get access to it in the first place.

And much of the country cheered on the shooters. In a way, boomer culture dominates our collective memory of the era (i.e. Four Dead In O-hi-o) but washed away the reality.

My concern is Trump going full fuhrer will make independents and some republicans feel like reasonable moderates if they vote for a Hawley/Cotton/Desantis.

It was written on the same napkin that had his easy effective cheap health plan, but the suit he left it in never came back from the cleaners.

Yep, they want to ‘remove’ people they don’t like such as myself and others. And by remove, I mean execute/murder/etc.
