All kidding aside, printed matter in NYC have for a long time “reported” no-alleys-in-NYC because the absoluteness of that is too – absolute – not to share and pass down. The creator and keeper of the site is incredibly devoted and is considered by the city to be the go-to for the unknown and obscure. Check out his Cemetaries page; it’ll make you wanna visit one or two… before the inevitable.
Another excellent point. I love learning from local historians who want to celebrate and disseminate info about their area of expertise.
The ‘no alleys’ thing comes up all the time to explain the garbage situation there, which truly is a perfect example of what alleys are good for!
