Sometimes it actually fucking is, yeah. Especially if when people do enter, under the asylum program, you then steal their children.
And people seeking asylum have actual rights, here and elsewhere.
And, FYI… rules lawyering about people’s welfare is not a great look. We have a global asylum issue right now, after centuries of the global north, exploiting the global south. Now people who have suffered under colonial rule or other forms of aggression are seeking safety here. Instead of denying people that, maybe we should look at the very man-made rules we’ve crafted and change them to help people rather than hurt them for the “crime” of having been born in the “wrong” place… using the rule of law to hurt others is an awful idea.
