I don’t think it works that way. And look at how well separating it’s power system from the national grid has worked out for Texas.

Cue the inevitable death threats against Garland now.

Is anyone keeping track, let alone planning to file any charges?

Finally, some reporting in our local paper that calls out the complete and utter hypocrisy of the Repub party:

It’s a refreshing change from the usual reporting that totally ignores the statements and stances of these folks in the not-so-distant past when the tables were turned.

The thing is, though, that the US press (even so-called left-leaning media) and to a large extent even the American public, start from the position that the Clintons are shady, and must be guilty of something. So any accusation against them is treated as a charge that must be refuted, rather than proven. Meanwhile for even the truly worst actors, like Trump and even other Democrats, charges must be proven not refuted.

Billions of negative PR dollars well spent.

Totally not refuting that.
But my biggest complaint about our local paper over the past several years has been one of utter laziness. They’d report a political issue almost like a high-school “mean girls” thing, just printing the “he said, she said,” version of events, with no actual reporting on whether what either of them said was factual or whether they’d said the exact opposite when it was one of their own party at the center of the melee.
So, yes, baby steps, but a welcome shift in reporting!

Miami [Florida]Man Pays to Fly ‘Ha Ha Ha’ Banner Over Trump’s Mar-a-Lago Home
(as @mr_raccoon posted upthread)
i salute you, FloridaMan!
Sabatini can fuck right off with that bullshit.

Florida Man hired a plane to fly a banner over Mar-A-Lago reading “HA HA HA HA HA HA”

Or maybe we’re looking at the wrong side of that transparent banner and it actually reads “AH AH AH AH AH AH”

I mean, it wouldn’t be the first Count against him.

On the Pod Save the World podcast a couple of former Obama administration officials were noting how unusual it is for the White House to have physical print-outs of highly classified information at all. Apparently they had transitioned years ago to a system where people who needed these briefings would receive them on special secure iPads that would automatically self-wipe after two days. So to have so many boxes of physical documents someone really had to put in the effort and jump through hoops to get them printed. This wouldn’t be just some random stuff that someone took home by mistake when cleaning out the office.

So yeah, concerns about selling information to our adversaries definitely might have been the driving force behind this warrant.
