Donald Trump's home at Mar-a-Lago raided by the FBI

Or he may have thought the Trump presidency would turn into a dumber, crasser version of W.'s administration, with Trump as a figurehead spending his time golfing and just taking credit for everything he’d be given to sign, while the VP and the various chief advisers actually run things behind the scenes.

I will admit I thought that was going to be the most likely way for Trump’s presidency to work out. I greatly underestimated Trump’s narcissistic urge to involve himself in everything!

My money is on that possibility.

That’s entirely possible, too. My prediction matrices were still in a state of shock back then over the whole thing and it took a couple weeks to re-normalize.

Probably not too far off. I’m sure he believes that god wanted him to be president, and that Trump’s unhealthy lifestyle would lead to that outcome.

True, that could also be the case.

UPDATE 2:25 p.m. ET:

Attachment B to the warrant delineates the three statutes which agents are pursuing evidence under. They are: 18 U.S.C. § § 793, 2071, and 1519.

Um, don’t forget 18 USC § 1591, either… Epstein connection?

Edit: my mistake, it’s actually 1519, which ties into the espionage/ mishandling classified information stuff.

Well, one of the agents who was involved with the discussions over the stolen U.S. property and was part of the filing to unseal the warrant is identified as JAY I. BRATT CHIEF Counterintelligence and Export Control Section National Security Division.

Fingers crossed, but not sure this will ever amount to anything.

§ 1519 not § 1591, according to what @RickMycroft posted.

That was a paste from Breitbart, so double-check once reliable sources have it.

Not sure how much weight to give this:

But if the Ochre Joker had “Sensitive Compartmented Information” he could be in real, serious trouble. Despite what is said in the media, the President cannot unilaterally declassify any materials he wants. SCI materials are often classified by Congressional Statute, and contain information on sources and methods–so how intelligence is gathered, who particular sources are, etc etc. it’s hard to imagine why someone needs to have that information printed out, which takes a lot of effort to do, given that the systems were put onto secure iPads under the Obama administration. Of course, one reason for Trump to have it would be to sell it, or show it off to his Mar a Lago cronies.

Don’t know if this is real or not, but it wouldn’t surprise me in the least if it was:

Yep. Some of those cronies are Russian assets.

I wonder if it’s even that premeditated. He knows they’re valuable. That means he should have them. Whether that’s to show off, sell, or give away to the first person who flatters him before asking would be something to figure out moment to moment.

I’m inclined to believe that it probably was premeditated, as he’s very interested in being in the same circles as people like the House of Saud. While he’s always been wealthy, they are in another category entirely as they are hereditary wealth and royalty, which I think he actually aspires to. Selling them nuclear secrets would certainly put him firmly in their orbit, I’m sure he believes. Jokes on him, as I’m sure that the Sauds look down on him except for what he can do for them.

I don’t think Trump is “smart”, but I do think that he has goals for him and his family, and knows how to work the system enough to attain those goals (or try to at least). He understands the system and how to cheat it just enough to keep him in power and out of jail… or he did until he decided to run for president, at least, and try to run those same scams. I think maybe, there is going to be some consequences for his actions.
