Frankly, anyone who is more concerned about the origins of SARS-Cov-2 than what we need to do to stop it is part of the problem. Full stop.
In ten years, it would be great to do a nice analysis of whether virology research somehow contributed to things - as extremely unlikely as that is. But right now it is worsening a political climate that is keeping people from being vaccinated, which is killing people every day.
