But his lawyer is in Omaha!
For your lips to Dog’s ears
I used to regularly drive between D.C. and Atlanta. Can’t tell you how many balding, middle-aged white guys asked me to drop them off at the Fulton County jail.
I sincerely hope there are no innocent people on those flights.
Weird. They can plan for thousands of people to make it to DC, but one rich guy to make it to GA? It’s not like he’s got any plans to follow afterwards.
I think it’s a belief in a more friendly jury pool along with better prison accommodations if found guilty. And yes, a potential pardon down the road.
These fools don’t believe for one second they’ll see jail time, and sadly, they may be right on that point, but the ability to receive a Presidential pardon is definitely what they’re after.
Also, the Georgia pardon system is more erasure of the crime from your record, not a get out of jail free card. As I recall you need to complete your sentence successfully and go another five years, without any criminal activity.
Also the decision is made by a board, not by the governor. And the decision must be unanimous.
So they’re fucked if they are convicted
Not for state convictions, they won’t!
