I guess he doesn’t want the younger women’s votes?
Hopefully they can fix that in the beta version.
I don’t think I’ve ever been to a Hooters but that guy sure isn’t selling me on the idea.
Two weeks ago, Jody Greene resigned as sheriff of Columbus County, North Carolina, after it was revealed he made racist comments about Black employees in 2019. He said he resigned for his “love” for the county and asked for forgiveness as he went full speed ahead on his reelection campaign.
And on Tuesday, he won.
Columbus County, NC on the no-go list.
I’ve been wondering, maybe someone here knows more. Given how many bills the House has passed in the last couple years, is there anything stopping the Senate from picking some of those up and passing them, (aside from a massive amount of ego that requires them to fiddle with everything which would require another round of review)?
If a bill from any Congress does not become law during the Congress in which it is introduced, it is considered “dead.” For a “dead” bill to be enacted in a new Congress, it would have to be reintroduced with a new number and begin anew its journey through the legislative process.
Yep. And even if they did, there has to be reconcilliation between House and Senate even if they both approve a bill, because there are always differences.
If the Republican majority in the House ends up being in the low single digits and the Democrats win the Senate races in Nevada, Arizona and Georgia (which is well within the realm of possibility), we might just be able to resurrect a few laws that were killed by Manchin acting alone. Some of those laws got Republican votes in the House.
Figures. Kind of a bummer in our current situation, but at least the repugs can’t bring up stuff from 1786 or anything.
Nah. The GOP won’t pass anything that has Dem approval. They are going to try to let it all burn.
For real. Even if it was originally introduced by a Republican.
Sometimes, working in the education sector, I feel like I’m taking crazy pills when the politics around common core comes up.
He did! While Dr. Oz’s intelligence and charisma turn out to be homeopathic
Yeah, you’re probably right. Even if McCarthy loses control of his caucus (which I think is pretty likely given the motley crew they’ve assembled), there just isn’t enough will in the Senate to get rid of the filibuster…
The Senate isn’t what I’m worried about. I think we could work with even 51 senators (though there’s still a chance at 52, neutralizing Mansema). It’s that the only thing a Republican house can unify behind is blocking Dems.
It’s a stretch- but not ruled out.
god, that would be so good for the country, and all of we the people living in it.
i don’t look forward to the constant brinkmanship and endless hunter biden investigations coming otherwise. not to mention literally nothing will get done, and the supreme court will continue to run amok
Sounds like he was still using the same polls from before tuesday night
