Elections 2023 and 2024 (Part 1)

Bessent, who used to be the chief investment officer at the family office run by the Democratic megadonor George Soros before founding his own firm, Key Square Capital, said that Trump’s conviction acted as an “accelerant” to the process of Republican donors returning to the fold. There’s a feeling, he said, that “the Leviathan could come for you.”

I mean, I guess he’s right. For ordinary people the idea that even Trump could be prosecuted should be a good thing – nobody should be above the law. But of course the 1% need there to be people above it, because they’re all scum who depend on the rules not applying to them.

Bondar is challenging Cole from the far right, mounting a campaign focused on issues such as border security, energy independence and inflation, among other things. He has reserved his strongest criticism for Cole’s support of American foreign aid, especially money being sent to Ukraine as it battles Russia’s invasion from the east.

And spend lots and lots of money. No that a Dem challenger woul dhave a chance, but at least money gone will not be spent elsewhere to drive MAGAt candidates.

If you told these assholes one cent of that money might make the life of an American child better though in any way shape or form they’d protest it as demonic socialism day and night on account of race, gender, sexuality, or zip code.

Republicans aren’t even a joke anymore. They are the stinky phlegm the comedian leaves on the mic.

They think they found some votes. I’m not sure how they ever get it passed but I suspect they want democrats to vote no and why would democrats want to punish service workers.

On the other hand why do republicans hate everyone else and want to tax me?

I get maybe talking about eliminating income tax but just for one group?

Gotcha. So if the Biden administration returns the Capital Gains tax to 50%, CEOs will change their primary compensation to “tips” from the BoD…

I find it hard to believe that mtg added a 20% gratuity for anything.

I’m usually a trusting type, but I want to see both CC receipts side by side. Both the one that states “Customer Copy” and the other one that shows “Business Copy” so I can see which receipt actually has the gratuity added.

Minnesotans who are eligible but not registered to vote will now automatically be signed up when they get or renew their driver’s license — unless they opt out — a change that could mean up to 120,000 more voters in the system by the November election.

The new program, which passed the Legislature last year, officially got up and running at the end of April. Since then, more than 15,000 Minnesotans have already been registered to vote, outpacing state projections for the new program.

…Twenty-three other states and the District of Columbia already use an automatic voter registration system.
