HuffPost reported that Schweikert made the comments in a 2022 interview with a conservative radio host Seth Leibsohn.
In the interview, Schweikert said of women who get abortions: “They hate their neighbors because they only care about themselves. They hate that baby because it symbolizes a responsibility.”

History will not be kind* to people who went out of their way not to take a position in this election, out of all elections, when the choice is so clear and the stakes could not possibly be any higher. At least one of the WaPo editors resigned today following this announcement, and the LA Times just lost three of their editors yesterday over their ownership making the exact same decision no to publish an endorsement. Resignation is obviously the only right choice in this circumstance but it really sucks for those people. It’s hard enough to find a paying job in journalism these days so quitting has to be painful.
