The message we heard in church was that end-times prophecy was unfolding in front of our eyes and God needed our help to speed up the process toward an apocalyptic Armageddon that would ultimately culminate in the return of Christ

An omnipotent, omnipresent creator entity requires help.
Uh, huh.
I’m watching the World Series (I think 1st time all season that I’ve managed to watch more than an inning). They ran a pro-Trump ad which claimed something to the effect of “she said so herself, in our own words,” then they very obviously cobbled together her saying their “keywords.”
Made me think of this:
A pretty complete list, with citations, of how Trump ticks all the boxes.
Several years? Wtf for?
Business owners in the area say the pro-Trump demonstrations have taken place there every Tuesday for several years.
About 200 new Republican poll workers were appointed last week to help run Philadelphia voting sites, alarming some veteran workers who fear that an influx of untrained, last-minute hires could cause chaos on Election Day.

For example, a judge of elections can just pick a majority inspector and vice versa, according to a guide on the City Commissioners’ website. Any registered voter of any party can also be installed into a job on the spot, on the morning of Election Day, by a show of hands from voters present. That’s called a curbside election.

But he also noted that they’ll be working under tight time constraints. They’ll arrive on site around 6:10 a.m. to set up the room and machines, and people will line up to start voting at 7 a.m. If an inspector doesn’t show, the rules say the team has to wait until 7:30 to have a curbside election to fill the position, potentially creating a growing backlog of restless voters, he said.
Does anyone know how news outlets are getting their early voting statistics?
I just saw a report that says most early voters are over the age of 50.
How do they know this, are clerks releasing data or is there a database getting updated as people vote?
In other words, are these facts or guesses?
At the bottom, it says “Source: Catalist.”
FWIW, we voted early in rural Indiana, and other than the ‘child’ who was with me, no one was under 60.
Experienced poll workers said they’d had over 100 that morning alone (over a week ago). There was a line out the door when we left. Again, not a city or town, but a sparsely populated rural area.
Meanwhile, I’ve noticed an unusual trend this time: lawn signs up by the side of the road will be for all the local and other down-ticket candidates. Only the properties with nothing but Trump signs have a Trump sign up. The rest, his name is conspicuously absent from the collection.
Let’s just say, I am hopeful (based on what I’ve witnessed locally) that all those older voters aren’t swinging the way Trump hopes. My sense is: a split result, with D at the top but in a state like Indiana, almost everything else an R.
Totally the same in LA and northern Orange County cities. A bunch of downticket signs posted at intersections and busy byways (both Democrats and Republicans) in Norwalk, Downey, Cerritos, Cypress, Buena Park, but zero Senate and Presidential candidate signs. We saw a bailbonds business with a Michelle Steele (Republican), some other downticket race, but no Trump sign.
A neighborhood home had Trump, Garvey and another Republican candidate sign in his front yard a few weeks back, but we noticed that Trump sign was removed after the MSG rally.
It is 2024, how is orange-face still a thing?
In down-ticket news, betcha this guy gets elected in a landslide out in MAGAland:
Man, this guy fills up half an Evangelist bingo card™ himself: road rage, lying to police, flashing a gun outside a Christian school while kids are leaving. I say probable cause to search his laptop for CSAM.
And everyone thought George W. Bush looked ridiculous in that flightsuit cosplay.
