Not that I subscribe to such juvenile-ass thinking, but there are many far less costly ways to get some ‘payback’ at someone talking trash about you online than calling that person “pedo…” especially for someone who’s tax bracket is in the 7 or 8 figure region.

I think the stupidity is motivated by his 7 or 8 figure tax bracket. He has a big enough megaphone and enough money and power in his sphere of influence that pesky things like lawsuits simply don’t matter because he can afford to pay someone to tie his victim up in court until he gives up and it won’t materially cost him anything.

Speaking from the experience of living in the region, western pedos are targets for all kinds of blackmail/police intervention, and often in combination, and if they are trying to procure children for that particular deed, they’d get noticed. And we’re not talking about war-zones, nor extreme poverty these days. The sources in your link are also extremely vague.
If by child prostitution we mean money for sex with people that are below the age of consent, then the US would probably rank the highest in the world, considering the population base, the widespread poverty, levels of drug addiction and the high age of consent. Musk himself lives in the US. Dodgy as f**k IMHO.
