Elon Musk is back on his 'Thai cave diver is a pedo' business again šŸ˜ž

Eating crickets is a good reason to go to Thailand.

Billionaires donā€™t lose libel suits. End of.

Not only that but this would require a team of lawyers to round up assets of Muskā€™s outside the US, a team of lawyers expert in the local jurisdiction, in private international law, in US lawā€¦ You donā€™t just walk into your local friendly solicitor in Dublin, London, or Chiang Mai and sue Elon Musk.

There is literally NO CHANCE that the poor guy slandered by Musk will get a payout from this. He simply doesnā€™t have the money to approach this lawsuit. As Peter Thiel said - single digit millionaires donā€™t have access to US justice, let alone some civic minded diver rescuing children in Thailand. His only hope is that some billionaire with an axe to grind will go all Peter Thiel to his Hulk Hogan and set an army of lawyers on Musk. And his life WILL be ruined while and after this happens. Mere collateral damage.

The best outcome for the rest of the world in the case of a suit is the two megadroid armies of scumbag lawyers Jarndyce v Jarndyce each other into nonexistence to the betterment of the world.

There is no such thing as a victimless billionaire.

Then what are you doing then?

On the contrary, we have got a self-driving Musk and that is the problem. We all need to get out of the way to avoid being on the wrong end of a hit-and-run, until there is an adult at the wheel.

(And thatā€™s not just an attempt at witty wordplay/banter. Corporate governance at Musk companies is widely criticised and his companies do need some more adults on their boards, with the power to stand up to him.)

Or it could be like Tump; he knows Jack-shit about, more or less, anything!

what if some of this turns out to be true? Is he crazy, or just crazy lucky?

Musk, being a solid citizen, will obviously have taken his evidence to Thai authorities, who, like police everywhere will have asked him not to speak publicly about it, so as not to compromise the case.

So its weird that he keeps mouthing off about it.

Self driving off a cliff can hardly be called a proof of concept.

Thailand is also one of the most popular destinations in the world for Westerners wanting to dive due to it being cheap and having spectacular marine life. Its also a very easy place to live for expats as its safe, cheap and has a decent health system. So, shocker, a professional diver works at a dive school in one of the most popular resorts in Thailand, which happens to be close to some of the best dive sites in the country.

You think he is just calling up random people to talk about his accusations? Maybe the obsession is by the press. They keep pestering him about this issue and any reply he makes becomes instant news. Maybe if we moved along, he would appear to as well.

I think I stopped caring too much after this. By all appearances, Musk has become a crackpot, and Tesla and SpaceX should diversify away from him or they are very likely to go bust. For each of these incidents, I become a little bit more happy about not owning a Tesla.

If the guy needs a therapist that badly, he can afford to pay for one. Itā€™s not our job.

Raising a rather unlikely hypothetical

Poor baby. People make him tweet things.

Iā€™m not sure that comparing his emotional maturity and stability to Trumpā€™s helps your argument.

Then why ask it then??? Also why say first you arenā€™t doing a particular thing?

Iā€™m not eating Marshmallows, What if Musk is projecting???

You know Musk needs some flunky whoā€™s job it is to disappear bad ideas off of his desk before he tweets them

I know. Iā€™ve been there! And I actually tried a cricket while in Chiang Mai.

This is the most succinct argument for why it is so weird Musk keeps on going on about this. Doesnā€™t he see it will make him look bad either way?

If his allegations are true, why only come forward now? Why not contact the authorities earlier?

He might if the case is brought in the UK. Burden of proof would be on Musk to either prove his claims, or to prove that he hasnā€™t damaged the guys reputation.

And Iā€™m sure a publicity hungry QC will represent him in The High Court pro bono.

Some men become quite defensive if you make fun of their little submarines.
