Elon Musk is back on his weird tweets again

Funny thing is that this tweet is at least the third time that McAfee has used the phrase.

Seriously. they’re just silly wordplay jokes. This is really nbd and i’m having a hard time understanding why everyone is losing their mind here.

“Musk deeply hates public transit, and public infrastructure in general”

No, he dislikes public transportation as it is today, fraught with problems. His Boring company is working on solutions, like the one they’re building in Chicago.

And Musk spelled backwards and inside out is Skum.

Can the SEC stop his weird tweets if they don’t mention his stock specifically? This might actually be a genius plan to harm shortsellers…

Or Occam’s razor: Elon is dumb and high

I’m having a hard time finding evidence of any Musk skeptics “losing their mind(s)” here.

They only have to censor communications (including tweets) that are about the company and its plans, not general tweets (which would run up against first amendment issues).

Elon is not CEO. Evian is delicious. I don’t care that it’s from the finest sewers in France.

I’ve never really understood all those visitors, Évian is always in the shade. Go to the Lausanne side, it’s sunnier.

Well, we’re not all lining up to heap praise upon him, which he so richly deserves for single-handedly transforming the transportation sector and saving the world… we’re a bunch of ungrateful, jealous, ignorant, fools, the lot of us! /s

No, these days he sticks to accusations of hebephilia & ephebophilia.

A private subway for rich people is not public transit.

I think it’s hard for us (whether “us” is people that like Musk or his critics) to accept that it’s possible to be an extremely talented and successful visionary who is also more than a bit of an asshole with really significant blind spots and/or a full on a weirdo.

The world would be simpler if all the smart people who do important things were also pleasant and admirable.

Speaking for myself, I’m just not sure what problem the proposed tunnel in Chicago would solve even if if worked perfectly. Ok, a handful of people will be able to get from the loop to O’Hare in half the time every day for something like 10-20x the price of a ride on the el. Other than some executives getting back and forth for meetings, I’m not sure who gets a lot of benefit there.

Why should we, though?

The role of fluffers and ass kissers unlimited have already been filled well past ‘surplus.’

It’s not private, and considering how ridiculously packed the El is in general these days, let alone the blue line, we need it. Happy to give the massice glut of business travelers in this city a quicker route to downtown and get their ignorant asses, giant bags, and manspreading off the El.

I totally agree. I just don’t get all the blind affection for him. If he actually does something positive, then praise that… but NO ONE is above criticism… and there is much to criticize Musk for.

The amount of people who travel to Chicago for leisure and business is MASSIVE. I drove for Lyft for a year and taking them downtown from the airports was my money maker. Giving these travelers a quicker, comfortable way to get downtown is better than over packing them in crowded trains or clogging our already clogged highways with more rideshare vehicles. they’d pay the same for an uber.

As stated above, I’m just tired of hearing about him and every other cult of personality that isnt actually as great as their rabid zealots so fervently claim they are. Everyone is human, and even the very best of us is highly fallible.

It’s unwise to put someone you admire up on such a high pedestal; when they will inevitably fall one day and fail your expectations.

Believe me, the number people who take an Uber or Lyft from O’Hare to downtown is high, and it’s far more than business executives.

The thing you have to pay for and need a specially equipped autonomous electric vehicle to use isn’t private?
