I think, in the whole, it’s people trying to “other” child abuse - they don’t want to acknowledge it’s their own boyfriends and family members and clergy who are doing it, they desperately want it to be some stranger in a group to which they’re already hostile (thus also giving them a reason to be hostile). Though I’m guessing it is appealing to molesters because they can use it for cover - it couldn’t possibly be someone like them doing these sorts of things. With Musk, he’s associated himself with them, so he must be “one of the good guys,” therefore he must be doing the good thing (no need to actually compare the assumption with reality, because qanoners don’t do that - in fact, they can’t while also maintaining their beliefs).
