Elon Musk would like everyone to stop calling Twitter "Twitter"

The only thing Musk has proven beyond any reasonable doubt is that he is a socially immature asshole.

Maybe we can compromise and call it Twatter to reflect his ownership.

According to Wikipedia:

Occasionally used to denote an arbitrary metric space.

EDIT: I see you beat me to it with your own edit. Anyway, let’s talk about how wonderful it is that Wikipedia has lists for everything.

You know, if you had described how the internet begat Wikipedia in some science fiction story in the 1960s, It wouldn’t have been particularly believable. 10,000s of people volunteering their time to write an authoritative reference work? Just not realistic. Frankly, it seems even more amazing when you realize what a shit-show large swathes of the internet are.

Yes, but does Wikipedia have a list of all lists which are not members of themselves, and does that list list itself? Priorities!

I’m going with “The Dwindling Shitstorm Formerly Known As Twitter.”

It would help if his few remaining techies removed all internal references to Twitter via the search engines (as well as their own flippin’ site). When attempting to determine whether or not Premium+ really did away with adverts (it does not, BTW, for double the price of Premium you just get them removed from the For You and Following timelines, but not actual threads themselves) - I did a Google search and it landed on help.twitter.com.

Signing up for X back in January also involved using many twitter.com hostnames too. So they’ve done themselves no favours whatsoever. I’ve now terminated my account and shall never return. I won’t go to Bluesky because they don’t offer any MFA. Threads is slowly turning into another Twitter with the arseholes from X/Twitter moving over there. And then Mastodon is far too fragmented for me.

Microblogging services are, to me at least, dead. It was not beauty which killed the beast, but a billionaire. And a highly unlikeable one at that.
