Yeah, didn’t read like satire to me either. I did a web search and one or two other news sites seemed to have fallen for it, and I took that as confirmation that at least the source was real. (Daily Mail fell for it, but I wasn’t going to link to them.)
Alas, Snopes was on it just a little too late to save me.
With a good deal of luck public attention will be enough to motivate the prison to keep Maxwell alive long enough to get her to flip on anyone else she has dirt on. Of course the “Cover Your Ass” motivation works best when there are actual consequences for failure, and that’s usually not the case for prisons that allow harm (including self-harm) to come to those in their custody.

But according to the comments on the Brown Valley article, Snopes is just a part of the Deep State fake news conspiracy and of course the far left wants Maxwell dead because reasons and the sheeple should start thinking for themselves.
