Didn’t take me long to call BS on the trope of a whole planet devoted to one topic (or biome).
#butwhofixestheroads?
Roads? Where we’re going, we don’t need roads.
A true Klingon warrior will fight any pothole and will either come back with his spade or his body will be carried on it!
What about the obligatory “planet with a doorway that even the ancient gods are afraid to enter”? Like B5’s Thirdspace or Iain M. Banks’ Excession.
And asphalt. Don’t forget asphalt.
I think things like this should come with full references so you can look up all the stories about space elves and read them.
This would be an ideal RPG map.
I’m aware. But Traveller never took it so far.
Edit -> BTW, FASA stated as a Traveller content creation company. A friend back in the day had several FASA Traveller modules, including the 1st bits of what became Battletech/Mechwarrior.
But where is the shrimp world?
What I love most about this map is the elegant answer to “how come the Vaguely Benign Human-led Democracy is next door to everything?”
Answer: Not at all politically motivated space gerrymandering!
Traveller’s got that covered:
No Cowboy Planet?
I sincerely doubt your commitment to space tropes
