Evolution of the bOING since 1998

Inspired by this I decided to do a roughly annual screenshot of BB’s homepage as captured by the Wayback Machine, starting with their first capture.

Now I am trying to remember when I first read it. It must have been about 2000.

I still have issues of the Zine version… oh man I feel old now.

When Pied Piper finally break on the scene, we can keep our pictures too!

I found it on September 12, 2001- I was trying to see if Bruce Sterling had anything to say about the recent unpleasantness vis-à-vis Afghanistan, and found his Word column which in turn alerted me to the online version of the Boing.

Oh man, Season 2 of Silicon Valley has been amazing. Highly recommended,
much sharper satire.

One of my co-workers suggested it to me in 2010 when he suggested I look up Cory Doctorow. Then, when Gweek first rolled around, I started reading, and loved Ready, Player One because of Mark’s interview.

Been hooked ever since.
