Any Republicans that split with 45 will have to deal with his cult for a long time yet. Half of their traditional base will hate them, and have no problem with self-destructive behavior. In many ways, they are damned if they go after 45, but just as damned if they don’t.

I’m quietly optimistic that the GOP will be shattered for good.
