I am not a fan of pineapple and that weak Canadian bacon or pale ham on pizza. Pineapple and pepperoni is good. Throw some jalapenos on there too and now we are talking.
For that price you can have caviar pizza.
I like pineapples but not that much. And while i know there’s a market for other premium fruits and veggies i just can’t see myself ever spending stupid amounts of money on something like this
yellow on the inside
How very different from a pineapple.
So, it looks the same when on a pizza? How good could it taste to justify costing approximately one hundred times as much?
(BTW: Pineapple, Black Olive, Onion, and Banana Pepper for me.)
So we are back to pineapples as a status symbol?
Or swinger status (when upside down)
I also note that they claim to ship them without their tops (the leafy part) in order to be more ecologically sound, rather than a more prosaic method of keeping just anyone from twisting it off, planting it, and growing their own $400 pineapples.
(edit, grammar.)
Yes, it looks like the lesson Del Monte took away from the tulip mania is that the tulips should have been more edible.
Regular bacon also works.
Along with plain NY style cheese pizza… a white (ricotta and mozzarella) pizza with spinach, garlic, and mushroom toppings.
! Unfortunately, my pizza alignment is lawful evil most of the time, so YMMV.
I recall seeing some youtubers trying some and they had one that had the top. But still unless Monsanto has a seedless version pineapples apparently have seeds hidden in the rind, so it might be possible to get seeds off the rind?
Seeded pineapples do exist, but I haven’t seen one in years – best crop practices these days are to maximize the fruit yield by preventing fertilization. Pineapple seeds are about 1/8" long, shaped like little watermelon seeds, found in the rind.
I saw one at a corporate event, that’s what the packaging said, but that was a very early release fruit. Maybe they’ve let up? It’s not like a decent horticulturist couldn’t clone one from almost any living cell these days. I guess if they really wanted to be sure they could irradiate them, that usually even makes the fruit last longer.
I’m not a Hawaiian Pizza hater but will concur that an acquaintance who grew up in Trinidad introduced me to ground beef and pineapple on pizza and it blew my gdmn mind!
I’m neutral in the great pineapple wars but nobody better put tulips on my pizza!
How you gonna eat the thing if you never put your lips on it?
