I think that’s assuming that they give a shit once the baby is born, which conservatives have shown time and time again that they have not. Axios has some information about some recent nominal gestures by the GOP to look at paid family leave in a very GOP way (paid family leave by means of razing social security), but it’s so very clearly a poison pill that it’s ridiculous.

They care that the child can be put into a “christian” home and made into a foot soldier for god. They don’t care if the child is happy and healthy - they want a foot soldier that obeys and that’s how they raise their children - to be obedient.
They do not believe in things like paid family leave, because they believe that women should be home caring for the children, not in the work place.
