If one would like to have an hidden in plain sight box, you could take a distribution board with a blank door. For added security you could buy the keylock option or for more hiddeness you could buy a dual rail model with independent plates, put in the upper rail some switches and leave the lower one one blank, but secure to the lower rail a plastic box.

Derringers lack trigger guards. It seems like it would be very hard to hold them without your finger on the trigger. They seem like they would be very difficult to handle safely.
