Robin Williams and depression - I wrote this last year:
Reading it just now … whew. That was about 6 weeks before I made my own attempts. (Yes, I’ve been through treatment and really am feeling much better now, with tools in place to keep me from getting that bad again!)
I’m not a professional comedian by any means, but I do find humor in the darkest things. I can verify that so many of us who had “unhappy” (understatement, much?) childhoods do that; it’s a survival mechanism.
