FBI: U.S. law enforcement infiltrated by white supremacists

"Kenney said: “Since the investigation determined that the officer couldn’t be dismissed because PPD does not have a policy against tattoos, we will draft such a policy so this cannot happen again.”

Devising a proper tattoo policy - which must be collectively bargained - is not an issue limited to Philadelphia: it has recently become central to contract negotiations between the Pennsylvania State Police and the Pennsylvania State Troopers Association as well."

Bargained by a police union that endorsed Trump. I don’t see that policy going anywhere.

They do, at least reputable ones. What does this have to do with U.S. law enforcement being infiltrated by white supremacists?

What’s with the partial sentence? My response was to @Max_Blancke, who expressed the possibility that the gentleman must have had regrets. I’m thinking if one has regrets over an ill-conceived tattoo, they would cover it up at the very least. (Or have it removed, as @anon61221983 mentioned.)

From the photo, it would appear that he doesn’t really care who sees the tattoo.

I think his “story” has been covered before today, hence the discussion above. The link to your story states that the original story has been updated, as the original story broke in September about an incident in July. The social media outrage they’re referring to happened months ago.

I wish I had that I had that effect on news.

ETA: Second sentence grammatical error.

Wow. I just thought I was using a correct but shorter way of referring to that specific organization, but now I am using skillful euphemism deflection.
I really did just mention the tattoo because military insignia are something I know about, and it had unexpected features. I was not making a political statement. Nazi cops scare me, too.
If you are looking hard enough for things to take offense with, you will find them.
I do not dwell on minutiae because I am trying to deflect or engage in fallacies. I am just a person who is good with tiny details. I spend a lot of time working on items while looking at them through a microscope. I sometimes weld by microscope.
Most of the people in the BB community have eccentricities. Some of us are lucky in that we have found enjoyable, productive outlets to turn those from liabilities into assets. I am not very good at social interactions or knowing the nuances of debate. If I make a remark about the details of the eagle on the guy’s arm, I am literally just talking about those details. There is no subtext intended or unintended.

This might be a “No Shit, Sherlock” moment…

I have the utmost respect for law enforcement, family ties, but you didn’t see this coming? Or you looked away?

Maybe you forgot what lead by example means? Got burned-out after sloughing through the muck of humanity too long?

That’s no excuse. Human up, stand up, and lead by example, please. If I can do it, as a civilian, you can as an agent of government allowed to execute me upon your whim. If I did that, I’d be put in prison, unless I could successfully defend a self-defense case in a castle doctrine state. Remember, you have the training to discern what is right. Just keep doing that, and when the autocracy creeps in, remind them what serve and protect means in action. Thank you for your service and protection. Y’all rock.

*I’m speaking rhetorically to the great total that is LAW ENFORCEMENT

Alright. I’ll give you the benefit of the doubt this time, but I’ll put it this way, Max: This? This was using a microscope to focus on the texture of a single tree’s bark while ignoring the forest in which you’re standing. Or, not metaphorically: You were discussing the details of a Neo-Nazi’s tattoos without any regard for the fact that he is just one of many white supremacists in the US police. And that is why I called it a derail, especially when combined with the effective euphemism by using the acronym (which is not familiar in general use) in place of the more instantly recognizable name.

Also, I’m not looking for things to be offended by, and I resent the implication. You simply seem to lack the ability to engage in empathetic projection and be able to understand that you say offensive things to other people.

As for claiming that you’re merely eccentric, I’m eccentric too. Eccentricism is not an excuse for refusing to listening to people and engaging in a repeated and consistent pattern of covert racist double standards, especially as you also like to claim special or educated knowledge in the field of political authoritarianism–education that you have just demonstrated in a very narrow way, yet you also routinely fail to comprehend the extension of that history to how it affects modern individuals and organization.

Last Friday, I was transporting a rescued dog to a foster home and waited for a while in a rest area. A guy got out of a pickup next to me wearing a starched black shirt sporting one of these

and one of these

and with the ridiculous title “Imperial Guard” stitched on the sleeves. I’ve lived in the south most of my life and never seen one of these guys in broad daylight.

But he was tooling down the road with a new symbol flapping from the ass end of his truck:

The site it comes from is Blue Lives Matter but its really Black Lives Don’t Matter. Confederate cops. Yup.

Where did you see that?

Tattoos aren’t the problem you idjits*! It’s what the tattoo is of and what it indicates about the officer!

* The idjits being PPD and such folk, not you Akimbo_NOT or most anyone else here.

Those are some new ones to me. I’m guessing the triangle design is meant to represent 3 "K"s turned to face each other?

As a liberal, and a gun owner, May I emphasize that the tool is only as good as the user/training.

If you have any inclination that you’re ever possibly going to use a gun in any situation other than at paper on a controlled range, you damn well better be sure that you know it inside and out. That you can clear jams/mechanical problems. That you know EVERYTHING about it’s use (including the characteristics of the ammo you choose, and how that particular ammo works/feeds etc… with your chosen gun).

Most “liberals” are at a severe disadvantage in this realm. Part of the cultural divide is that a lot of people we’re worried about grew up being trained on these weapons from childhood. If you didn’t, you’ve got a LOT of catching up to do.

Also, buy a safe. Keep everything secure.

You’d never know it to hear them talk, of course.

I’ve seen the cross symbol but never noticed the comma thing in the diamond before. What’s that about?
