FBI: U.S. law enforcement infiltrated by white supremacists

Klan symbol, Klan symbol, Cop symbol… seems legit!

ADL and SPLC say it used to be part of a yin/yang, but got corrupted into a blood drop. I call it the “Cross & Tadpole”.

I’m no philosopher but it seems like using one HALF of a yin/yang kind of misses the point.

Well, do you want Trump to have complete control over the nation’s police forces in every single state?

Oh, I totally agree with you. I’m luckier than many liberals having grown up in a family that hunted a lot, so already had plenty of familiarity with bolt action rifles as well as shotguns. Then I served in the military in the 80’s. But it’s great advice for everyone, thanks for sharing.

As usual with the KKK, it is an evolution of idiocy.

It started life as 4 letter K’s facing outward with a yin yang symbol in the middle. Over time, the K’s rotated into a more vertical appearance that looked like a cross and the yang part disappeared. Being totally ignorant of their own history, most Klansmen think it is a drop of blood these days.

Yeah the blood drop is the only thing I have heard before.

He probably plays the English Horn too.

Thanks. I will keep my eyes open, next time I am down there. I have never seen the triangle thing before.

Well, if someone did it on purpose you could say it was making a point. Though talking about people using symbolism purposefully instead of people just being idiots is pretty off-topic here, I guess.

On I-20? Can’t say I’m surprised, TBH. I grew up in rural GA and this sort of symbology wasn’t common, but common enough.

It’s not just rural GA. Pretty much any rural blue-collar part of the US. I’m not so sure about rural New England, but even that wouldn’t surprise me terribly.

Used to live in CT while in the Navy- it’s shocking how many Confederate-flag-flying hillbillies the place really has.

I’m sure. But rural GA is what I know.

Sorry for assuming. I just see so many folks who think having the means is enough in and of itself.

I’m suddenly wondering about that word “infiltrated.” That makes it sound like there is a carefully orchestrated conspiracy to get into key positions and disrupt law enforcement.

I’ve read the story, and I’m thinking there is an alternate explanation: White supremacists need jobs. The type of personality that embraces white supremacy is also a type of personality that does well in American law enforcement. Would this be better described as, “American cops are a bunch of fucking fascists, so they hire a fascist-minded people, which includes a lot of white supremacists”?

You know how a lot of police departments have an upper limit on the IQ they’ll accept in a job applicant? Might be a factor.

Your answer made me think of the fact that there are lower levels of lead in the air thanks to the 1980s regulations about leaded gasoline and lead-based paints. Shouldn’t we have a higher proportion of residents with reasonable IQs now? Why does it seem as if we’re in retrograde motion instead?

We can’t stop these people from chewing on old window sills now can we?

Max, please recognize that the details which you find interesting whenever a race or gun topic comes up, are - somehow, shockingly- found quite disruptive. Perhaps allow these conversations to evolve. Surely as a user here in good faith and wishing not to cause undue upset, nor come off as regularly disrespectful, you can wait sometimes.

When the context is a heated debate only tangentially related to what you would like to contribute, you might consider letting these things that fascinate you go unsaid occasionally… more often than you do.

Other people take these subjects personally. Your refusal to respect the dignity of conversation among people affected by this personally (this which affects you trivially) that is aggressive and has no place in civil discourse. If it were a one time thing I am sure I would not mention it.

If it’s a compulsion please recognize that nobody wants to be used that way.

Please remember that you can always, respectfully, start a new thread on a barely related topic. It is the sort of respectful behavior which will/might net one respect in return, assuming respect is what one desires. Thank you for contributing to the community.
