I believe the current Catholic policy is “Pretend they don’t exist, don’t validate them by calling their leaders Antipopes.” If Pope Ratz didn’t set the Inquisition on them I doubt anybody else will.

And of course a huge part of the Albigensian Crusade and the Cathar genocide in general was politics that wasn’t really religious. Fundamentalist alternatives to the Catholic Church aren’t important enough to slaughter em masse any more.
I think they are reactionary, not revolutionary. Big difference…

The Iranian Revolution was socially reactionary, especially in terms of women’s rights.
Not initially it wasn’t no. It was a broad-based revolution against a dictator. When the Ayatollah got involved, it became reactionary, and far less an actual revolution.
