There always has to be someone.
The person was looking into it for a volunteer fire department, for a way to equip their vehicles without a $5K pop for each one.
This has always been possible, the Flipper just made it easier.
Predictions:
- Unscrupulous people will make and sell âlight killerâ boxes for a huge profit.
- The people that buy them will be exactly the people who should never have them.
- There will be a huge moral panic over the Flipper Zero, which is an RF screwdriver, not even used for the âlight killersâ, and if it can break your system, your system wasnât very good.
- Incidents until everyone upgrades to better designed systems.
Many cities with newer traffic preemption systems configure them so they are encoded and log the vehicle requesting the preemption, as well as when failed and successful preemption attempts are made.
