Fox News in free-fall as Bill Shine resigns, after many women's sexual harassment claims finally taken seriously

Dang. That leopards joke was my intended reference there. Cheetahs aren’t even in the panthera genus…

Gotta love the headline “freefall”. Through all the changes, the network is still the most watched on cable. No, not just the most-watched cable news network - the number one cable network, period.

And only 80% of their audience is above 54, and none of their shows are the actual highest rated shows on prime time. It’s almost as if it is a channel just left on in public spaces and homes all over the country.

54-year-olds still have a lot of Fox News watching left in them.

Where’s the fiery ritual of carousel when you need it? [And yes, I’m over 30 too]

That’s…disheartening.

Just about every doctor’s office and hospital waiting rooms have Fox News on 24/7. When my late mom had kidney-stone problems, that was worrisome enough; but having to watch Fox News while waiting…arrrrrrrrrrrrgh!!!

In Texas it is literally on every screen in every public space. Airports, doctors offices, bars, restaurants, schools, offices, etc. It’s why their ratings are so high averaged across 24 hours, because Fox News (and cable news in general) has become the background noise of America. It’s also why averaging ratings over 24 hours is a really awful metric for popularity.

Hmmm… I wonder how much THAT helps account for their high ratings that our friend up there was gleefully touting?

It probably does account for much of it, but it is still effective at getting their viewpoint out there. :no_mouth:
