and civilians who are habituated to shooting off their mouths from a comfy armchair.
To be fair, they do have the right to address him that way.
But there is a long list of responsibilities they failed at.
That’s debatable! It certainly isn’t what I pay them to do. This is why I offer to help non-violent people who are accosted by police.
I agree.
Existing police could be given employment in the military.
I wanted to mention comparison and training of US police vs otherother countries, but this says it better than I can: http://www.takepart.com/article/2015/06/29/many-countries-police-rarely-use-their-guns-heres-why
Why not both?
I don’t see how he could have been aiming to get killed if he wasn’t even the guy the cops were looking for. I suppose it’s possible that someone randomly pulled over by the cops was already contemplating suicide and figured “cool. today’s a good day to die!” but probably not.
Either way police forces need more training in how to avoid being complicit in suicide. If Jack Kevorkian gets second degree murder for assisting in a suicide then cops should at least get manslaughter for doing essentially the same thing.
Also a possibility.
That’s the thing about most conversations on the net:
You never know if the other guy is actually sane, sober, or even serious.
I think you mean DOG. I hope you mean DOG.
or gal
Haven’t we discussed how ‘guy’ ‘dude’ and ‘bro’ are unisex terms in Melz-speak?
I thought I put it in my standard disclaimer, but maybe I forgot…
I realize that it looked like I was trying to shush you in particular, that was not my intention. My only intention was to say to the community as a whole that there is no point in commenting on this event if you don’t watch the video.
That being said, the level of offence you have taken leads me to believe that you have not watched the video. I don’t understand why you would bother to comment on something you have not experienced? This is a terrible video and I support your right not to watch it, but please withhold judgement of the people involved in the incident if you don’t watch it.
I never watched faces of death, I don’t understand why that was ever considered entertainment. I advise against watching this, It sucks, I don’t know If I will be able to sleep tonight after this.
Nope. They’ll shoot you because you didn’t show them your hands.
Feel free to pretend to hold a gun behind your back next time you confront the armed bullies we employ to patrol our streets, if that is what you need to do to feel free.
I will bow down and do whatever they tell me to if it keeps me alive.
Your premise is logical but I don’t agree that doctors who assist terminally ill patients in ending their life with dignity do deserve to be charged with murder. That; however, is an entirely different discussion.
Was this a good execution of an unarmed teen or a bad execution of an unarmed teen?
I need more videos to figure it out!
You seem to be taking my comments very personally, strange.
Hi pot, What are you sitting in?
In Ontario, Canada there was a report done looking into police shootings in the province. Here’s a short article about the findings of the report. It came to the conclusion that the police need to get better training in n de-escalation techniques.
From the article:
He says inquests have shown police respond with their guns when vulnerable people are in crisis because they are following their training, which focuses on “drawing their weapons and yelling commands.”
Also:
…they get plenty of instruction on how to use their guns, but not enough on how to use their “mouths.”
While the report focused on Ontario, I think the findings are applicable to a large number of police services across Canada and the US.
Nah, he was just articulating the thoughts in my head. Please continue @AcerPlatanoides
Oh yeah, and I should have clarified by ‘supposed to be’ I meant ‘in a civil society’ rather than ‘flawed laws made by flawed people’. I know for some people this is all operating as intended.
