That really helped me understand, thanks.
⌠like Trump put Pence in charge of COVID?
No. If Trump wanted an adult Pence in charge; he should have appointed mother.
No, thatâs asshole.
For context, Alcuin wrote that to Charlemagne. âThus Alcuin, while enjoining upon the lords the necessity of being just and merciful towards the people, felt that the latter ought to obey a just ruler with thankful hearts. Alcuin expressly repudiated the maxim, âVox populi, vox Dei,â maintaining that the voice of the people was the voice of madmen.â The Letters of Alcuin, Rolph Barlow Page, p.60
At least his monksâ penmanship was decent.
God. Reading those tweets is like reading the thoughts of an eighth-grade boy.
Yup. The missus needs new tires on her Model 3. The Tesla price was, shocking. GM has a better deal
Iâm not so sure GM wants to taut their experience with repairing the Volt.
Maybe Reuss said Bolt and people heard âVâ?
Why did we ever cover Andy Serkisâ face?
Because heâs a very good actor, and you needed a very good actor to make motion capture look good in the early days (and probably still do)?
Blogs. People used to have blogs. Some still do.
Theyâre also just an email away. Their email addresses are literally printed on the paper youâre reading.
This is addict logic
The author of that tweet also has a blog (without a TLS certificateâŚ) linked from the Twitter account and further downthread wrote, âI will miss it but will move on to something else.â
But, that thread is about the experience of an assistant professor. In my experience, an author of a paper would make a thread for laypeople about their paper or their presentation, and because someone took the time to explain the jargon, thatâs what gets shared around. Not everyone has heard of arXiv. Not everything had to be groundbreaking and by established people. One day you could find in your feed someone talking about their graduate work on ultra-hot Jupiters, but along with posting their graphs saying they are metal AF. People could share their passion for learning and you could find it without meaning to. And I will miss it, but I have moved on.
If youâre on an h1b visa and lose your job (or a supervillain takes over your company) - you have 60 days to find a new job to sponsor you (an outrageous Byzantine process) or else you & your family gets kicked out of the country. Twitter basically has hostages
Yep. The ones forgotten about in this kind of humor.
Let these fools fight
What the fuck, that last one is fucking gross. I mean, the other one is gross, but that last one is beyond the pale. Horrible human beings are horrible.
If there is one thing Musk knows itâs âpale.â
