Fuck Elon Musk (Part 1)

Never mind the “business idiot vs. 11-dimensional chess” debate – I honestly can’t figure out whether Elon is legitimately so oblivious or if this is some kind of next-level tr*lling.

Whole life idiot.

Trump loves Elton too. Kinda weird how these conservatives love them some gay artists, but hate everything they stand for. Just like they don’t listen to the lyrics of Springsteen songs.

It’s a typical abuser question, putting on the spot because normally specific examples either don’t come to mind right away, of the abuser thinks smugly they can neutralize the one example and then pretend there are no other reasons. Asshole bully debate club tactics.

Elon comes across as a typical abuser, has all the traits my toxic ex girlfriend had: the overinflated sense of cleverness, the deep need to exert dominance, the whole “in puberty and midlife crisis at the same time” mentality I keep coming back to.

Guy thinks it’s bad that companies lined up against the insurrections. Guy thinks it’s bad that companies pulled out of Russia when Russia invaded Ukraine and started torturing and raping Ukraine citizens. Guy thought it was bad that Trump was banned from Twitter without some kind of big group decision. I do not think this man is actually on the side of progress or justice.

Almost everything these days is Musk adjacent. I can’t talk to my dad about anything without bumping into it and derailing…

it’s the mark of unexamined privilege. they assume everything was made for them. even when artists explicitly say no.

( richard spencer and depeche mode is another example that comes to mind. )

Reagan’s '84 campaign used “Born in the U.S.A.,” completely ignoring the verses. Bruce Springsteen’s response to a question about that in 2005 included this.

It was also the issue of, not the beginning, but it was when the Republicans first mastered the art of co-opting anything and everything that seemed fundamentally American. …and I make American music. … So my music has often been a football…

NPR also included a bit about George F. Will co-opting his music in a different article about that song.

Leonard Cohen’s estate had a great burn after the RNC used “Hallelujah.”

If it hasn’t happened already, I imagine “Rocket Man” will be used by SpaceX without permission.
