Musk had not yet publicly responded to or commented on Beasley’s detailed plan as of Tuesday evening.
Cause he didn’t mean it. But if he does step up and donate the money, then good for him. But I doubt he will.

So far Tesla has benefitted from the novelty appeal of their cars. People are willing to forgive a lot as long as they are convinced that they are getting something unique in return. But now most carmakers offer all kinds of electric vehicles. We’ll see how well Tesla does in a world where electric cars are boring.

Honestly, where I live, I’ve gone from seeing maybe 1 Tesla maybe a month if that… to at least a couple a day. My friend’s BIL is getting one (the first person I’ve known to get one). They’re starting to become more ubiquitous, which means it’s less “unique”…

Yeah… I see one almost every time I’m on the road now and a couple when I walk as well. If they’re getting less popular/lower demand overall somehow that’s not really reflected in my experience locally.

The electric Mustang SUV seems to be a result of somebody noticing the Tesla model whatever had the same silhouette as the current Ford pony car

'tis now the season… where I’ll be overtaken on the Autobahn by Teslas with drivers all wrapped up in ski anoraks and hats and scarves… who don’t want to compromise range by turning on the heater… but can’t possibly be expected to drive on a more economical setting, i.e. slow in the rightmost lane. Gotta show those Beemers and Audis what’s what. And didn’t spend a heap of money to go slow. The pissing contest has been electrified.
